Signs that Dad needs a hearing aid...
I got exciting news this week...Steve is in sales and was notified that he made CEO club, translated means: we are going to Lanai, Hawaii the first week in August, for FREE!!!....Has anyone ever been???...If so, I'd love to hear details....I've had fun during the week, joking with my co-workers and finding ANY opportunity to weave "Hawaii" into the conversation....Such as: A few girls were talking about the LOST finale, I segued in and asked "Excuse me, do you happen to know where they filmed the show...pause, That's right, Hawaii!"...Too fuuny...Well, I realized the other night that I failed to mention the trip to my dad and proceeded to tell him I was going to Lanai....He paused and asked me where again, and I told him "Lanai"....He then asked, "Oahu?", and I said "No, Lanai"..That appeased him for the moment....Well, last night he said "Honey, where did you say you were going to in Hawaii?", I again said "Lanai", He said, "OH!!!!, I though you had said ONE EYE"....Good ol' One Eye, Hawaii!?....Maybe he thought I was going to "Hawai"(one i) Dad needs a hearing aid. :)

Lol! I remember when my grandfather, who is now in a nursing home, was over for dinner a couple years ago, and even though his hearing has never been that bad, my mother would always think that she needed to speak to hiim in a shouting voice! It was too funny, and my sister and I would just rollour eyes...someties I think my mom needs the hearing aid! *In other news...I posted a revison to my writing piece in doc sharing...thanks for the feedback!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I wish I could share all my memories of Hawaii but I went to the other non-continental state twice, Alaska!!! I'm thinking it's apples and oranges, or kiwi and pineapple, or salmon and seal...You get the idea! Congrats on his promotion! It just "shows to go ya" that behind every great man is an even greater woman!!! You need to weave in the conversation about the NEW HAWAII 5-0 with james caan's son as Danno and Alex O'Loughlin whose last gig was as a vampire...The previews look awesome and really need to be shared at school!!! And about your dad...maybe I can nickname Scotty Love (my cat) Lanai!
ReplyDeleteToo funny ladies....Lyndsey-I posted my comments back....If you have any specific questions on anything, just ask!...Cindy---I am ALL OVER mentioning the movie--I need new material....When I went to Spain, everytime, and I DO mean everytime anyone asked me about the upcoming trip, I broke into my own version on a Flamenco dance...I'm pitiful:)... I HAVE to get a picture of Daisy up for Scotty...Ha, now YOU have more "material" for your boy, "One eye, Lanai."
ReplyDeleteLOL that's great! How awesome that you two get to enjoy such a beautiful FREE vacation. I've never been but a close friend of mine has and she and her husband say it was one of the best places she's ever been to. The culture alone blew them away. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYou have a fabulous honeymoon coming up in about a minute, no?!...Your three weeks of travel sound pretty fantastic too!...I've never been to Paris (though I would LOVE to) but I did go on a fantastic Puerto Rico vacation years ago with my best friend...You need to tell us about your travels when you are back!
