Weekend News
Hey Girls....I spent the weekend in Rehoboth beach, Delaware...Steve's son Kyle had a baseball tournament there....It was an INTERESTING weekend....I am the most non competetive person alive, so the concept of these hardcore sports parents (Steve included)is difficult to wrap my head around.....I sometimes wonder if the kids even WANT to be there...There's just so much pressure on them....It's a ballgame, people, not a life and death situation...Steve gets quite intense when he's actually watching the games, so he really doesn't TALK alot during them....That's a long time not talking when you have a double header....I was thankful his ex(Martine) was there to chat with and share some Mike's hard lemonades with... (Also ladies-I am digging the drink "Sweet Tea vodka and lemonade"...BIG yum...Anyone had 'em?)....Seeing that Martine's boyfriend wasn't there, she was kind of alone because Kyle was off with the kids all the time....I felt compelled to include her in everything with Steve and I... Sometimes it's a little odd, but I would feel aweful if someone didn't extend an invite if I was by myself.... The other tough factor of the weekend was the HEAT....Sitting outside in in was rough (I'm wimpy like that).....So, the weekend certainly wasn't one of our better ones, but the idea was to be there for Kyle-and that's all that counts....Love ya. A.

Well..it sounds like Kyle is definitely the one who benefited! Kudos to all of you for being there for him! Ron is one of the most amazing fathers I know and would do anthing for his kids, but spending time like that with his ex is just not an option! She always has a hidden agenda and is just not a nice person, and coming from me who is very tolerant and can get along with just about anyone, that saays a lot! LOL! Anywho...it's nice being able to check in and see whats going on in our lives! Talk to ya soon! Lyndsey
ReplyDeleteSo, living in the South...(where there is "real" heat) we have SWEET TEA in our baby bottle...Now I'm thinking I wanna grow into the vodka/lemonade combo...Will debate on that as I head to South Florida for the weekend...You'll be happy to know I took a page out of the A's-guide-to-harmonious-exes-handbook last week when the former Mr. Grubbs and I spent two hours together to deal with an issue with our 2nd child...He even sprang for lunch for us (it was Wendy's!) ha ha...Miss Charlotte was all over spending the afternoon with BOTH parents at the SAME TIME, and we even took some pix!!! So thanks, Miss Manners!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Ladies!....I do have a rare situation, and I appreciate it for what it is BUT, that is not to say that I don't experience moments of insecurity, or minor annoyance....Case in point--Steve's sister Suzanne met a guy online about 6 months ago...He lives in Mississippi, so she just got to physically meet him 2 weeks ago...Suzanne wanted the WHOLE family to meet him, therefore we had him over Steve;s for steaks on the grill- Martine and Kyle included....Well, Martine took over the grilling duties like she was the hostess-ha!...I WAS annoyed, but her intentions were pure, not territorial...I kept calling her Bobby Flay all night...It ain't ALL roses!...Lyns-Your sitiation is more the norm....Cin-you crack me up "sweet tea in the baby bottles"-ha!..Us gals will someday have those drinks in person....and some burgers at Wendy's were the very LEAST your ex could do for bearing him 2 beautiful kids-jeez!...
ReplyDeleteHahaha...Miss Manners...good one Cin! I really am looking forward to the day that we can all toast to some vodka-lemonades in person...with maybe some margheritas thrown in!! Love you girls!
ReplyDeletewe had a very short window of time for The Last Supper!!! Actually, he had just been to a pawn shop looking for books (he recently was FIRED from his job of 30+ years, but he's getting 100 weeks unemployment then his retirement will kick in...I HATE HIM!)...so he found 2 yearbooks from when I was in 10th and 12th...so he picked them up...Strange but True...AND IT'S TRUE ABOUT THE T...I had to get some deep scaling done (YEAH!) today on the left side and the "sweet" (devil wears prada scrubs) dental tech said, "You drink a lot of Tea"...if you have watched Little Shop of Horrors...let's just say she had to be Steve Martin's child....
